On Monday (Dec. 2), New York Daily News reported that a Manhattan, NY judge dismissed all charges brought against Remy Ma by “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Brittney Taylor.
“Remy has always maintained her complete innocence as she never laid a hand on her celebrity-obsessed, clout chasing, credibility challenged accuser,” Remy’s attorney Dawn Florio told TMZ.
Back in April, Taylor accused Remy of hitting her while backstage at a benefit event. However, eye witnesses said Remy and Taylor were not in the same area when the alleged indecent occurred, and Remy also had video evidence proving she was not anywhere near Taylor.
Therefore, citing a lack of evidence from Taylor, a judge dismissed the case entirely and dropped all charges against Remy.
“This that ‘Case Dismissed’ beat!” the legendary rapper wrote on Instagram on Monday (Dec.2).
“Unfortunately, these manufactured allegations caused my client to suffer the indignities of having to wear an ankle monitor while having her freedom limited by travel restrictions and an 8:00 PM curfew,” Florio continued. “These restrictions have hurt my client’s ability to perform, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars of lost income. District Attorney Vance’s office should be commended for its exercise of sound judgment in agreeing to dismiss these unwarranted charges.”
Last December, Remy and her husband Papoose welcomed their daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie. A month after Reminisce was born, Remy and Papoose linked up on a touching song and video called “The Golden Child” about becoming parents.
“Never had a gift better than my beautiful #goldenchild She brings me so much joy!” Remy previously wrote about her almost-one-year-old daughter on Instagram. “Thank you [Papoose] aka the best husband ever.”
“The Golden Child” landed on Papoose’s Underrated album from earlier this year, which featured DJ Premier, Angelica Villa, Musiq Soulchild and Casanova.
