After teasing the video’s release with a cryptic tweet on Wednesday (Nov. 27), Kanye West came through with his “Closed on Sunday” visual on Thursday (Nov. 28). Directed by Jake Schreier, the 2-minute clip portrays the entire Kardashian-West family.
The video opens on Kim Kardashian, Kanye and their four children, Saint, Psalm, North and Chicago, huddled together on a mountain. Zooming out to reveal a Wyoming-set landscape, several vehicles arrive at the mountain. One by one, the Kardashian-West family appears, with Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Ray West and more making cameos.
The video follows Kanye’s other Wyoming-set Jesus Is King visual, “Follow God.” The clip also featured ‘Ye’s dad, Ray West, and a message about their relationship.
“My dad came to visit me at one of our ranches in Cody, Wyoming. He talked about his love for fishing, and how he would like to come here in the summers,” it read. “It took me 42 years to realize that my dad was my best friend. He asked me, ‘How many acres is this?’ I told him 4000. He replied with these three words: ‘A black man?’”
The new video also follows Kanye’s Nebuchadnezzar opera, which was performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday (Nov. 24).
Jesus Is King arrived Oct. 25. ‘Ye previously teased a Jesus Is Born album, due out on Christmas, and a Jesus Is King sequel in collaboration with Dr. Dre. Not much is known about the two projects, but producer Ronny J informed TMZ that he’s currently working on new music with both Kanye and Dre.
“To be honest, I’m working with Dre,” Ronny told the outlet. “Shout out ‘Ye, ‘cause me, Dre and ‘Ye all got some sh*t on the way… It’s something special, something a little extra for the fans.”
