It’s been a couple of years since Ms Banks blessed us with The Coldest Winter Ever, Pt. 2, the sequel to 2018’s The Coldest Winter Ever that saw 12 tracks with additional features from Tiggs Da Author, Moelogo, Kida Kudz, and Geko. Since then, the South London talent has continued to raise her profile through top quality singles like “Novikov,” “Nothin’ on Me” with Phil Speiser and Wow Jone, “You Don’t Know,” “Pull Up” with K-Trap, and “Dip” with Stefflon Don. In addition to her own work, she’s also made show-stealing appearances on songs by Nana Rogues, Tinashe, and more.
This past weekend (Sept. 3), Ms Banks added to the catalog with “Go Low,” an infectious new single that sees her instructing bodies to move over genre-bending production from Splurgeboys:
“Must be out of your mind, are you deaf, are you blind? If you’re feelin’ these lines, whine your waist up in time, batty jaw dem intact, yeah, you got it like that, make a man hit the sack, when you bruk off your back, time to turn up the temperature, there’s no fightin’ the vibe when it enter ya, why you all on the side? Get in centre, bruh…”
Directed by Chris Chuky, the accompanying video for “Go Low” sees Ms Banks in a dance-off with her alter ego. Both characters and their crews deliver energetic, choreographed variations while inserting quick plugs for Havana Club rum.
In a recent interview with GRM Daily, Ms Banks let the masses know that there’s plenty more music coming — hopefully, this also includes a new full-length body of work:
“I’m going to be making moves babe! Big moves, I’m levelling up! I got a lot of singles coming out, a lot of features, I’m just going to feed the streets man, it’s time! I’m coming, period.”
In the meantime, press play on “Go Low” below.
