Rexx Life Raj has been spoiling his fans with consistency ever since he promised weekly drops leading up to his next project. First up was “Lockheed Martin,” followed by cuts like “Alpharetta,” “Red Lobster Biscuits,” and “Kimbo Slice.” Now, he makes his return with the freshly released “HIM.” The accompanying Supergebar-directed video sees Rexx enjoying the fruits of his labor as he cruises down the coastline in an aqua blue whip while delivering his lyrics:
I done let you n***as slide for too long like I ain’t him/ N***as been out here praying for the goat well here I am/ Check my track record, check my account/
Lord give me guidance in this life of sin/ When I was at my lowest, my girl was solid, a n***a was bogus, when I was at my lowest, I learned who I can really lean on
As usual, Raj paired the new release with an Instagram caption, but this time it was more filled with gratitude than jokes. “‘Him’ Out Now, bb. I’m lowkey drunk off the sake and just wanna thank y’all for fuckin w/ me,” he types with appreciation. “If I didn’t have music I don’t know what I’d do. appreciate you giving me a space to let out all out.. I feel like I’m 7/7.. or 8/8… whatever, I’m undefeated.”
In terms of visuals, Raj shared videos for cuts like “Bad Bad Bad” and “Bounty,” and the latter track boasts production from !llmind. The song is the outro track from his California Poppy 2 project, which made its debut back in November. The eight-track body of work included features from Kojey Radical and Juvenile. The first installment of California Poppy came out in 2018 and boasted assists from Will Fraker, and the legendary E-40. In 2019, Rexx Life Raj continued his Father Figure series with its third addition Father Figure 3: Somewhere Out There.
