Last year, Young T & Bugsey liberated their debut project Plead the 5th, which contained 12 tracks and additional contributions from Aitch, Morrisson, Fredo, and Headie One — the last of whom appeared on the group’s breakout single “Don’t Rush,” and track that has since spawned an album’s worth of remixes in its own right. The Nottingham duo have also been providing spotlight-stealing features on tracks like Headie One’s “Princess Cuts” and Not3s’ “Boom Bam.”
Presumably looking to continue their success, November then saw Young T & Bugsey drop off a new cut titled “New Shape,” which began to raise hopes for an official follow-up. This past weekend, Young T & Bugsey continued that growing campaign with “Prada Bae,” a collaboration alongside Luton’s Nafe Smallz. Produced by Quincy Tellem, the artists can be heard harmonizing about women and their rich lifestyles:
“Real G’s move in silence like it’s bolognese, my life ain’t been the same, I’m in my Gucci bag, baddie with me come from outta way, fuck in the GLA, she made her booty clap, sipping regular Dom Peri’ ay, shawty you’d be amazed, girl, you my Prada bae, throw me lemons, I’ll make lemonade, the plug and I liaise, I’m finna fly away…”
2020 was a productive year for Nafe Smallz as well, beginning with his latest solo offering Goat World, which boasted 14 cuts with additional assists from M Huncho, Nines, Wretch 32, Chip, Young Adz, Miraa May, and more. Months later, he and M Huncho would team up for the joint effort DNA, a project that landed the two artists at the number six and number two spots on UK’s Official Albums and Hip Hop and R&B Singles charts, respectively.
