To commemorate her late lover’s birthday earlier this week, Asian Doll officially released her new visual “Don’t Let Me Go” in King Von’s honor. Codak Chris and Asian Doll co-directed the new video, which opens up with a scene of Asian and a male lead (resembling King Von) escaping to freedom together before Asian wakes up from the dream. In the song, Asian vents about her heartbreak with some pain-filled lyrics:
Don’t let me go baby, I mean this shit for real/ I’ma give you all of me this time, I hope you feel, these n***as can’t fuck with you, you laidback and you chill/ These n***as look up to you, you made it, how that feel?
These n***as can’t fuck with you, I mean that shit for real/ These n***as look up to you, you made it, how that feel?/ Don’t know what more to do, but cry, this shit for real/ This pain on me, it hurts so bad, this shit unreal, them n***as can all leave, ‘long as you stay here
Other recent tracks Asian Doll can be heard on are “Doom” with Blac Chyna and also Asian’s remix of “Nunnadet Shit” featuring Rubi Rose, DreamDoll, Dreezy, and Ivorian Doll. Fostering camaraderie in the rap game with her fellow women has always been a passion for Asian Doll, even before the remix.
In a previous interview with REVOLT, Asian Doll speaks about how she feels about the current state of women in rap. “We going harder than these n***as,” she confidently said. “We stepping on necks, getting everything we fucking deserve that motherfuckers try to take from us. They counted us out, try to make this seem like this is a male-dominated game. You’re lucky if you’re a female, you’re getting rich. We’re showing these dudes that girls aren’t being silent anymore, girls are getting their money.”
