This week, two of the dopest emcees from the UK have joined forces on wax. East London’s Potter Payper has recruited North West London’s M Huncho for his latest single “Catch Up,” a Roselilah-produced number that sees the duo rapping about their current wealth and success:
“They’re playing catch up, I’m putting down P’s, they’re still pocket watching, their money on E, used to be twenty, now double the fees, the men from the manor, they’re vouching for me, I got some quality diamonds for mum, my sis, my bro, my daddy and me, I’m manifesting the future, I speak to existence, no energies rubbing on me, I don’t show love to no traitors or fakers, I don’t show love to any police…”
“Catch Up” also comes with an accompanying visual courtesy of Darnell Depradine that keeps the music as the main focus, adding in special effects around Payper and Huncho performing the collaboration in different locations while dressed to the nines.
Since his well-publicized release from prison, Potter Payper has hit the proverbial ground running. Last year, he liberated the four-track EP 2020 Vision and made a list-topping appearance on GRM Daily’s “Daily Duppy” series. Months later, he would liberate the third installment of his well-received Training Day series with 24 cuts and a single assist from Mover.
M Huncho’s 2020 was exceptional as well — much in part thanks to Huncholini the 1st, which saw 13 tracks and contributions from Headie One, Nafe Smallz, and D-Block Europe. In addition to three of the album’s standouts, “Bando Ballads,” “Thumb,” and “Pee Pee,” landing on the UK Singles Chart, Huncholini the 1st also earned the masked talent a top five position on the UK Albums Chart. Outside of his solo offering, Huncho also reconnected with Smallz for the well-received joint effort DNA.
