Gallant’s new EParrived earlier his year in March, and it was well worth the wait. The Neptune EP features eight brand new crisp tracks and boasts assistance from R&B favorites like Arin Ray, VanJess, and the legendary Brandy. This week (July 28), Gallant unleashes his latest offering from the project, the official visual for the Brandy-assisted “Dynamite.” The video opens up with Gallant in a reflective state on a rooftop before Brandy joins him and they watch the city below them go up in flames as Gallant sings the hook:
If we lost our minds, blew up like dynamite, wouldn’t that be nice? Wouldn’t that be nice?/ If we gave up the life, threw it all aside, wouldn’t that be nice? Wouldn’t that be nice?
Leading up to the full release, Gallant shared his new “Comeback” single, which came paired with a video that finds him tapping into some nostalgic influences. Gallant first burst onto the scene back in 2016 with debut album Ology. The acclaimed LP received a Grammy nomination, debuted in the Top 25 of the Billboard Top 200. In 2019, he shared his Sweet Insomnia project, which was equipped with 13 tracks and features from 6lack and Sabrina Claudio. He can be heard assisting fellow artists on a few tracks last year, such as “Expectations” with Ella Isaacson and “This World” with The Main Squeeze.
Brandy has been an undeniable staple for R&B for many years, starting her journey back in 1994 with her self-titled debut album. Most recently, she released her critically acclaimed seventh album titled B7 led by her single “Baby Mama” featuring Chance The Rapper. The only other feature on the album is Daniel Caesar for “Love Again,” which received a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance.
