This past weekend, Soulja Boy reminded the world why he’s one of the best to ever do it during his “Verzuz” battle against Bow Wow, which saw him rehashing singles like “Turn My Swag On,” “Kiss Me Thru the Phone,” “Pretty Boy Swag,” “Gucci Bandana,” and — of course — the monstrous hit “Crank That.” Fans were also treated to surprise guests like Jermaine Dupri, French Montana, and Romeo, the last of whom had been hoping to become a “Verzuz” contender in his own right. All-in-all, the two hip hop veterans put on a show that’s arguably one of the best from Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s ever-changing series thus far.
Just prior to the major event, Soulja decided to bless his fans with a new offering titled “Copy & Paste,” which features T.I. and sees the artists flexing their street reputations, boasting about their rap stats, and sending a message to doppelgängers:
“A young nigga trap out the Tesla, these niggas be faker than wrestling, I put that boy on a stretcher, I’m applying pressure, bitch Big Draco and nigga, I’ll stretch your electric, run up on the gang, nigga, you gon’ get popped, only thing I killed was an opp, wasn’t no Hip-Hop…”
In addition to “Copy & Paste,” last week also saw Soulja dropping off the single “Triple Double,” which saw production from ProdByNoble, Macshooter, and producedbyad. Both tracks follow well-received drops like “She Make It Clap,” “Rick & Morty,” and “Mad” — all of which are expected to appear on Soulja’s forthcoming album Draco. A few months prior, Soulja released his latest body of work Soulja World, which saw 14 cuts and a single featured appearance from Lil B.
Press play on both the T.I.-assisted “Copy & Paste” and a star-studded video for “Triple Double” below. Soulja Boy’s Draco is set to arrive July 28.
