After dropping off his Love Me While I’m Here projects a few months ago, Jackboy is back with a brand new single “Protecting My Energy,” a track that reminds us to prioritize the important things in life. The track is accompanied by a feel-good visual showing the young rapper enjoying life experiences like skydiving and skiing, with lyrics that speak to staying pure-hearted after overcoming betrayal:

I feel like n***as ain’t as real as me, so I’m protecting my energy/ I’ve been talked down by family, so nowadays, we don’t speak like we enemies/ Look in my eyes say I’ve been crossed before, they hurt a boy so bad he can feel it in his soul

Dripped in the latest, I guess that’s the reason these n***as hating/ Ain’t never throw no shade, I grind hard and patiently waited/ I’m gambling with my life but I promise I’ve never been to Vegas/

Most recently, Jackboy linked up with Russ for their collaboration track “Own My Masters” where they rightfully boast about locking down a major contract move many artists aspire to have in their pocket. He dropped his Love Me While I’m Here project last December. It boasts 19 tracks with additional features from Rylo Rodriguez, Fredo Bang, Denzel Curry, Sada Baby, DeJ Loaf, Lil Mosey, Tyga, Juelz Santana, 42 Dugg, Sniper Gang crony Kodak Black, and more.

From the album we’ve been able to enjoy visuals for cuts like “Feel It” and “Made It Out,” and more recently “Notice Me” with Tee Grizzley and “Enjoy Every Dolla” with Lil Mosey. Prior to that was the Living In History project, which includes 14 tracks and only one additional feature from Rylo Rodriguez aside from Tee Grizzley.
