Detroit’s very own G.T. has officially unleashed his latest project Call Me G.T. today. The new 15-track offering paints a picture of his current life, as standout tracks like “Joe Montana,” and the Curren$y-assisted “Fade Away” help document his constant growth as a musician. On the project’s intro track “Chosen,” G.T. sets the tone right from the start about how he’s coming:
Came a long way from the basement. My bitch top notch, yours I won’t even say shit/ I been too humble, I been too patient/ It’s time for me to go out here and get it, gotta take it/ I ain’t never stole in my life, I’ll take it/ Straight flight to Cali, I ain’t going for vacation/ If you don’t wrap it tight, lil n***a they gon’ take it. They say I rap tight, every beat I just lace it/
The new Call Me G.T. includes guest verses from names like Curren$y, Icewear Vezzo, Peezy, and fellow Wavy Gang partner, Babyface Ray. The body of work comes in perfect timing to keep his momentum, as he’s been picking up steam after grabbing titles like being named 1 of Audiomack’s 10 Rappers You Should Know Right Now in back February.
Earlier this year in January, G.T. dropped off a self-titled project with eight tracks and no features to let his bars shine. Before that was 2020’s Merciless project, which made landfall In December and boasted assists from artists like Larry June, Samuel Shabazz, Babyface Ray, Sterl Gotti, and Roland Benberry 3. Last year was a busy year for him as he already had released a project even prior to that. Timeless came out almost a year ago, and that offering boasted popular cuts like “Smoke” featuring Sada Baby.
