Aside from her star power, catchy lyrics, and infectiously confident personality, Megan Thee Stallion rose to popularity mainly for one thing: her undeniable ability to rap for real. Her latest offering “Southside Forever (Freestyle)” serves as a reminder of that, as the Houston native delivers three straight minutes of bars. On the track, Meg gets rightfully cocky:

Please bitch, do not try to cap on me, like I ain’t the hottest out naturally. I go anywhere in my t-shirt and chain, hoe, killin’ shit casually/ Like I ain’t the hottest in Houston, like n***as ain’t beggin’ to do me, from ballers and rappers and bitches included. Like I ain’t the life of the party, shit can’t get started without me/ Like I ain’t take over a season, bitches ain’t Megan. I bring the hood out a classy bitch, out in Calabasas doing ratched shit.

In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion unveiled her debut studio LP Good News, a 17-track project with additional appearances from Young Thug, Beyoncé, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Popcaan, City Girls, Lil Durk, SZA, and more. The album climbed to the number two spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to more than 100,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release, and has since earned a Gold certification. In addition to Good News, 2020 also saw Megan releasing the well-received Suga, a 9-track offering with a couple of collaborations alongside Kehlani and Gunna. The Suga EP also includes one of her most successful hits “Savage.”

Most recently, Megan linked up with frequent collaborator and fellow Southern artist DaBaby for their “Cry Baby” video. She also can be heard on Ariana Grande’s freshly released official remix for “34+35” alongside Doja Cat. Another recent huge collaboration is “WAP” with Cardi B.
