RMR had a pretty big 2020. Following the viral success of “RASCAL,” the genre-bending artist released his first official body of work DRUG DEALING IS A LOST ART, which saw eight cuts and additional features from Westside Gunn, Future, and Lil Baby. Fans even got a remix of “RASCAL” that featured an additional assist from Young Thug. Just prior to the year’s end, the man with the mask got conceptual with his 4th Qtr Medley, a short film that contained warped covers of tracks by the Goo Goo Dolls, Drake, and Matchbox 20.
For his first official drop of the new year, RMR unveils his latest single “Her Honeymoon,” which is produced by The Do Betters and sees him singing about an interesting relationship:
“Patek, it came back frozen, my girl, she came back frozen, Osaka on ‘em, she ballin’, my n***a, you know what it’s costin’, goin’ Atlanta to Vegas, from Vegas back to L.A., you can tell that I miss her, you see the pain on my face/
Foreign keys, done did degrees, she make it look easy, tease me, shawty, tease me, missin’ your candy, tell me, shawty, tell me some of your plans is, smokin’ on a spliff to help you escape it, make it reality…/”
The video that accompanies the melodic cut starts with RMR explaining how the visual is unfinished, and that he has some thoughts on how to make it complete. The loose plot that he narrates sees him and his girl (played by Janet Guzman) in a fragile relationship — which, at some point, leads her to steal RMR’s mask from his safe to deliver to another individual (played by comedian Reedo Brown). RMR then takes us through possible ending options before providing a number that viewers can call to solicit their own ideas.
