Bugzy Malone and Chip have quite the history in regards to their music careers. Back in 2015, Bugzy Malone appeared on Charlie Sloth’s “Fire In The Booth” show to start a beef between his London counterpart, which eventually spawned some of the best diss records from both sides — including “Relegation Riddim,” “Pepper Riddim,” “Hat Trick,” “#Wasteman,” “96 Bars Of Revenge,” and more. Two years later, the two emcees would then squash the conflict in front of the world in much the same way JAY-Z and Nas did back in 2005.
Fast-forward to 2021, and the Manchester star has reconnected with Chip for the hard-hitting cut “Notorious,” a Blinkie-produced cut that sees the two reflecting on their mutual past:
“N***as jumping out their prams going crazy I be like “It’s all good baby, baby,” they wanna’ see me laid out, bloody, bleeding, go tell ‘em that I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, hallelujah when I’m squeezin’, where the weed at/
When the flows open water, tell me where’s the deep end? See, it’s time to show maturity and do it for the city, so me and B ain’t ever going out like Pac and Biggie…/”
The flashy video is mainly centered around Bugzy Malone and Chip performing on a stage with beautiful women and a giant “Notorious” sign in the background. The duo can also be seen recreating classic moments from The Notorious B.I.G.’s videos — for example, one scene shows them driving an old-school Mercedes Benz in reverse, an obvious nod to the classic cut “Hypnotize.”
Press play on Bugzy Malone and Chip’s “Notorious” video below. The track is said to be taken from Malone’s forthcoming album The Resurrection, his first full-length LP since his Silver-certified debut B. Inspired back in 2018. The Resurrection will make landfall February 12.
