Back in November, NLE Choppa celebrated his birthday by releasing his From Dark to Light project. It’s third track “Picture Me Grapin’” just received a new video to propel the energy, as the visual acts as an homage to the late and great legend 2Pac. The Ben Marc-co-direct video calls back to the golden age of MTV, with NLE Choppa reenacting scenes from his infamous videos as he delivers his own verse:
Picture me rollin’, Fat Cackwood smokin’, couple bitches in motion. We ain’t causin’ commotion, but I be braggin’ and boastin’. I put the most in, I get the most out, no doubt./ I brought the Glock in and took my show out, I sold ou. tWe break them poles out for your show out, then roll out./ I got him hit and then I rapped about it, think he know now. Put a duffle bag up on his head, my n***a cash out. I get the cheese in large amounts, they callin’ me the cash cow. We get the P’s, we get the pints, and then we tax ‘em, Uncle Sam.
NLE Choppa’s year has been off to rather a great start. He recently joined forces with 50 Cent and Rileyy Lanez for the “Part of the Game” song and video. The collaboration is the theme song for Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Prior to the aforementioned From Dark to Light, the Memphis rapper dropped his full-length project Top Shotta, which saw features from Mulatto, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Chief Keef. Singles we’ve heard from Choppa include the aforementioned “Narrow Road” featuring Lil Baby, “Walk Em Down” with Roddy Ricch, “Ruff Rydas” from the Road To Fast 9 mixtape, and “Memphis, Pt. 2” by AG Club with A$AP Ferg.
