After multiple production shutdowns and rescheduling, singer-songwriter Rotimi finally presents his long-awaited official music video for “In My Bed” featuring Wale. The song is originally off his 2019 EP The Beauty of Becoming.
Ben Federman-directed music video shows things getting steamy between Rotimi and his love interest inside a beautiful mansion. As an effort to make the best out of the quarantine-related postponements, Rotimi actually already released another visual for the “In My Bed” back in May of this year in the form of an animation video. He explained the situation while giving credit to the animation team that made the visual possible:
“Rotimi was scheduled to shoot the video for his hit single “In My Bed” but the shoot was canceled due to the pandemic and fast spread of COVID-19. Rotimi and his team in partnership with EMPIRE set out to hire animators to put together a video for the song. We found 37 of the best animators from 24 cities across 5 different continents and they collaborated to bring this animated video to life…”
The new video comes on the heels of Rotimi announcing the signing of his new multi-million dollar deal with EMPIRE. Rotimi also released an acoustic version of the successful “In My Bed” single, which can be found on his Unplugged Sessions project. In July, he linked up with Jacob Latimore and Trevor Jackson for their collab single “Real Love, Pt. 2.”
Wale was also recently featured on a single from another artist, “A Million” by DMV-based singer Mannywellz, which comes after two have collaborated for Wale’s “Love & Loyalty.” Wale’s last full-length project, Wow… That’s Crazy, was released in 2019 and included features from Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Kelly Price, Ari Lennox, and plenty more. More recently, he dropped off a six-track EP in June titled The Imperfect Storm.
