Next month, THEY. will be releasing their sophomore LP The Amanda Tape, which is expected to feature the previously released singles “Count Me In,” “All Mine,” and the Tinashe-assisted “Play Fight.” This week, they add to that with “STCU” (Shoot The Club Up), a collaboration with Memphis legend Juicy J that sees production from Andrew Bolooki, Christopher Ahn, and Dante Jones. On the airy, thumping cut, the Los Angeles duo give the title an entirely different, more sexual meaning:
“Tore the club up, then I shot yo club up, I might love her, ain’t use no rubber, she said don’t worry bout that s***, you know I’m safe, I said don’t matter anyway, b***h it’s too late/
Raw dog is a never, I know I know better, let her get on top, she came all on my Gucci sweater, hope this not a set up, she just want some feta, lеt her get me for my dough, no I can’t go nеver…/”
The Amanda Tape will be THEY.’s first release under their new partnership with Avant Garden and Island Records. The project will also follow last year’s Fireside EP, which saw six cuts and appearances from Jessie Reyez, Jeremih, Vic Mensa, Ty Dolla $ign, Gallant, and more. Prior to that, they released their debut album Nü Religion: Hyena via Mind Of A Genius/Warner. Meanwhile, Juicy J is getting his fans ready for the long-awaited album The Hustle Continues, which is set to be released October 14 via eOne. More recently, he blessed his fans with the single “Gah Damn High” with longtime collaborator Wiz Khalifa, along with the socially and politically charged offering “Hella F***in Trauma.”
Press play on “STCU” — and, if you missed them, the other aforementioned singles — below. THEY.’s The Amanda Tape officially makes landfall October 23.
