Currently, Jhené Aiko is still sailing off the release of her third studio album CHILOMBO, which has peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 thanks to 152,000 album equivalent units sold. Following visuals for “P*$$y Fairy (OTW),” “Lotus (Intro),” and “Magic Hour” comes an animated clip for “B.S.,” which features H.E.R. and sees the two collaborators showing their exes that they’re better off without them:
It seem like I give so much and don’t get nothin’ back, I really thought it was love but you’re so f***in’ wack/
Always get caught up in love, but I am done with that, I can’t get caught up in lust, so now I’m, yeah/
Flexin’ on my exes, in my model X, pretty little skinny, little bitty body model-esque/
Some of y’all ain’t never had no real b***h and it shows…/”
The video comes courtesy of Justin Richberg and shows cartoon versions of Jhené and H.E.R. riding in a Model X through what looks like Hawaii’s alternate dimension, complete with erupting volcanos, lightning storms and Mars-esque landscapes.
CHILOMBO follows Jhené Aiko’s sophomore studio LP Trip, which was released back in 2017. Prior to that, she teamed up with Big Sean for the collaborative project Twenty88. Speaking to REVOLT, Aiko spoke on how the foundation of her latest release is based off of freestyles and vibe sessions:
“Most of my songs are freestyles. They start off with me either having something in my head and I’ll sit down with my keyboard player or [producers] Fisticuffs… I’ll tell [them], ‘I have these melodies, just give me a metronome’ and we’ll build music around what I did… [I] just kept singing until [I] said everything I needed to say.”
Press play on “B.S.” below. In related news, Jhené Aiko recently announced that a Deluxe version of CHILOMBO would be arriving this month — you can read more on that here.
