Cleveland’s contributions to hip hop include Bone Thug N-Harmony, Kid Cudi, TrapMoneyBenny, and now, newcomer YSN Flow. The Cleveland teen dropped his mixtape Flow $ZN tonight (April 10). The project follows a string of singles including “Illegal Guns” and ‘Shoes Tied.” He continued to flex his name, which stands for “Young Successful Navigation,” a mantra that describes his approach to the rap game.
The independent artist was born Kamron Ford and his style is in a similar lane to Gunna, Lil Baby, and other rappers that sing their lyrics. Flow $ZN is distributed by Steve Stout’s UnitedMasters, an innovative music publishing service.
This project arrives at a time when independent artists are making serious moves without the traditional major label deal structure. The original version of “Want Beef” featuring Bae Bae Savo helped generate the buzz that has led to millions of streams and views on YouTube starting last spring and a second version arrived shortly thereafter.
In the year that followed, a remix featuring Quando Rondo emerged and Flow’s star continued to rise. The song “Like That” arrived back in February and the guitar-heavy and the “Want Beef? (Remix)” dropped the month before. It is an updated version that goes as hard as the original.
Flow has been teasing content on social media in the weeks leading up to the release in order to build up anticipation. His followers have even been getting a sneak peak ahead of the official drop.
Both previously released singles have accompanying visuals that match the tone of the music. They are on the project along with 10 other songs. Features include YSN Jayo, Justin Rarri, and Lil Tjay.
This mixtape is a glimpse at the potential YSN Flow offers to the rap game, and we’re so happy that Flow $ZN has arrived. Check out YSN Flow’s mixtape below.
