There are few artists who have been working as hard as YoungBoy Never Broke Again in 2020. This year has seen multiple full-length projects from the Baton Rouge star, including Still Flexin, Still Steppin, 38 Baby 2, Until I Return, and Top, the last of which acts as a sophomore follow-up to YoungBoy’s debut LP Until Death Call My Name. He even teamed up with Rich The Kid for last month’s Nobody Safe, a 15-track body of work with additional assists from Lil Wayne, Quando Rondo, and Rod Wave.
Even with the aforementioned drops, YoungBoy still has more music to provide to his fans. Case in point — this week sees him releasing a new visual for “How I Been,” which is produced by RellyMade and TnTXD and sees YoungBoy updating his fans on how life is going:
“Got my burner on so they won’t play me, put that Buddha print on and it make me think about Blasian, I need you to save me, these hoes tryna raid me, just like you the cops, hoe, you gotta chase me/
And in May you know i’ll change the weather, all these foreigns be matching, real n***a gon’ do it better, even though, IRS tax me I say, ‘that that Motorsport, Supercross can’t jack me,” I say, ‘fuck that KTM, I want Kawasaki’/”
The accompanying visual comes courtesy of Trilla Visuals and is essentially a collection of footage showing YoungBoy on tour, at his residence, and at other locations. His significant other, plenty of money, marijuana, guns, and more can be seen throughout the clip.
“How I Been” follows previously released videos for tracks like “Thrasher,” “Peace Hardly,” and “Dead Trollz.” In addition to his own music, this year has also seen YoungBoy contribute to singles like Mike WiLL Made-It’s “What That Speed Bout?!,” Migos’ “Need It,” and Future’s “Trillionaire.”
