Last month, GoldLink was officially back with some new music with the release of his “Best Rapper In The Fuckin World” track. Now, he has returned with another cut titled “Dunya” featuring LukeyWorld. The new song arrives with a visualizer, including a warped collection of snakes and silhouettes as GoldLink flows with the movements:
Right for the bro, go, uh, put it in a chokehold, uh. Met a lil’ crazy bitch, uh, crazy what I like, though 3-D print truck, yeah, 3-D Benz truck, yeah. When I really wanna rap-rap, I’ma really run ‘em up, uh. Take the whole rap ting, take da whole wap ching. I put the rap game on the ropes and really make my ting, huh. I’m a lil’ willy, big stunt, all I need a black girl, big butt. I could give a fuck or two fucks, what? What?
It’s been well over a year since the DMV artist released his debut studio album Diaspora, which saw 14 tracks and additional appearances from Pusha T, Khalid, Tyler, The Creator, WSTRN’s Haile, WizKid, Jackson Wang, and more. In a previous interview, GoldLink shares some of the most memorable advice he’s gotten:
It was Rick Rubin telling me about the timelessness of art just after my first tape [The God Complex] came out, when he found me on Facebook. He said, “If you focus on art everything else will fall into place.” I think he told me that because he knew that I was going to get into an industry where it’s very jaded and people change. So he was just like, “You focus on what got you here. All that other stuff is just noise.” There are only a handful of people who actually stay true to themselves from the beginning to the end.
