MoneyMarr is definitely not letting up with new music. The top of the year saw the Washington, D.C. rising star liberating the project Exotic Habits, which boasted 14 tracks and additional features from fellow DMV artists Xanman, Baby Fifty, Black Fortune, and more. This month, he follows that with Millionaire Mindset, which brings forth 14 more hard-hitting cuts and a single assist from Brooklyn drill rapper Rah Swish.
In addition to the body of work, fans also get a visual for album standout “Clase Azule,” a Wavylord-directed clip that shows MoneyMarr enjoying the now-popular tequila, flexing his wealth with beautiful women, and more of what appears in the song’s subject matter:
“Mansion party in the Hills, fuckin’ with models, too many vibes, too many bottles, shawty got ass, don’t need no goggles, i’m in it, I hit it, she sing like gospel, how is your life, it seem like it’s awful, I’m living big, I’m living colossal…/”
While he’s been cooking up infectious tunes for the past few years, it was 2019’s Draco Vibes 2 that helped propel him to national fame — particularly the single “Speaking Facts,” which saw him trading street bars with North Carolina frontrunner Stunna 4 Vegas:
“I can’t rap about shit if I ain’t speaking facts, I’m the youngest of trappers, nah, this ain’t no act, on the block slanging rocks with them illegal straps, on the block servin’ drop, making illegal racks…/”
At only 18 years old, MoneyMarr joins a number of names that make up the D.C. metropolitan area’s next to follow in the footsteps of Wale, Logic, and Shy Glizzy — a group that includes the likes of Rico Nasty, Big Flock, and past collaborators like Baby 9eno and Q Da Fool. Expect to hear even more from him in the new year.
