Currently, many of us continue to deal with the chaos happening in this country, from the still on-going pandemic to the oppression taking place within our communities — and everything end between. This past weekend, D Smoke decided to grace us with an uplifting cut titled “It’s Ok,” which is produced by Zorro and expounds on its straight to the point title:

“The Devil been busy, I hear voices, convolutin’ solutions and clear choices, seem a lil’ blurry, my ears hear noises, my fuse gettin’ shorter, that nigga Earl Boykins, how I’m supposed to run? My tank is on empty, gotta recover strong like young Embiid/

Why do we love the struggle on the fence, between livin’ our dreams and livin’ alone simply?”

“It’s Ok” follows other recent releases like “Rapture” and “Let Go” with his brother SiR. In Inglewood representer could also be seen contributing to tracks like Rapsody’s “Afeni (Remix),” Jac Ross’ “It’s Okay To Be Black 2.0,” and Tobe Nwigwe’s “HEADSHOTS.”

In a past interview with REVOLT, D Smoke spoke on whether he knew that he would see fame and success within the music industry:

“Heck no. A lot of people will say, ‘As soon as I saw you, I knew you’re winning.’ I had no clue because it’s too many variables. It’s a lot of other rappers. I was confident I was going to make an impression every time I stepped up. That’s all I was focused on. But, I didn’t know what would come into play.”

Back in February, D Smoke released his debut album Black Habits, which saw 16 cuts and Snoop Dogg, Jill Scott, Ari Lennox, his brothers SiR and Davion Farris, and more. Hopefully, the aforementioned singles signal a follow-up in the near future.
