It’s been a couple of years since Bugzy Malone liberated his debut album B. Inspired, a mix of grime and hip-hop that saw 14 tracks and assists from Maverick Sabre, JP Cooper, Rag’n’Bone Man, Not3s, and Laura White. That project has since earned the Manchester emcee both a top five accomplishment on the UK Albums chart and a Silver plaque for his efforts.

Since then, Malone has delivered some notable singles for his fans, including “M.E.N. II,” “Kilos” with Aitch, “December,” “Cause A Commotion” with Skip Marley, and “M.E.N. III.” Now, he drops off a new track titled “Doe’d Up,” which sees the self-proclaimed king of the north reminding everyone that he’s doing quite well financially:

“I’m Luchiano now but back then I never had no luck, I’m meant to be dead right now but I rose up, I don’t need no label to pay my P, your one million couldn’t sign me, I wear B. Malone a lot these days, cause man got tired of Nike/

I’m insulted by the proposal, it’s like they forget I’m the mole hole, the trainers are in JD Australia, and that means we’re going global/”

Bugzy Malone first started making major waves on the UK grime and hip hop scenes with notable mixtapes like SwaggaMan, Lost in MeanWhile City, and Stereotyped, eventually released his first official EP Walk With Me in 2015. He then followed that with the Silver-certified short plays Facing Time and King of the North, released in 2016 and 2017, respectively. In addition, Malone provided verses for other dope cuts within that same time frame, including Chase & Status’ “Don’t Stop,” Dizzee Rascal’s “Ghost (Remix),” and Kojo Funds’ “Who Am I?”
