Today, Famous Dex liberates his sophomore album Diana, which is named after his late mother. The project sees 17 tracks and additional assists from Wiz Khalifa, Trippie Redd, Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, Tyga, and Fivio Foreign.
The album’s opener, “See The Pain,” sees Famous Dex reflecting on the loss he’s witnessed in his life over production from Lux2wavy:
“Ayy, you see the pain when you look in my eyes, yeah, I miss my momma, that’s why I looked in the sky, and n***as so lame, I know these n***as don’t ride, yeah, I miss my brother, I know my brother gon’ ride/
Would you ride for me and ride for me? Don’t lie to me, don’t cry with me, all guys for me they shoot for me, can’t hang with you, can’t hang with me, yeah, I mean it…/”
Diana follows 2018’s Dex Meets Dexter, which saw 14 cuts and features from Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, Drax Project, and Diplo. That project also landed Dex at the number 12 position on the Billboard 200 following its first week of release. More recently, he also joined label mates Rich The Kid and Jay Critch on the fourth installment of the 300 Entertainment-backed Rich Forever series.
Last year saw Famous Dex joining many of his peers in swearing off drugs like Xanax and lean, taking to social media to announce his decision:
“I just want to thank God. I don’t do Xans, lean. It’s over with. God is good, God is great … I just want to thank God for everything. I want to thank my supporters, I want to thank everybody supporting me, everybody that know me. God is so good. I’m relaxed. I’m chilling. I’m good. God is good, man. He’s great. I’m doing this for me and my children. Get right. Dexter. Make the world get better.”
