Back in May, R&B stars Ne-Yo and Jeremih joined forces on the smooth collab track “U 2 Luv,” which sees production from Retro Future and samples Zapp & Roger’s ‘80s classic “Computer Love.” Today, the song gets an extra boost as Ne-Yo recruits Lil Durk and Queen Naija to add their juice to the track. Lil Durk kicks the new track off with a nod in his verse to Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion’s mega-hit:
“If I say I love you, say it back. She keep on playin’ that WAP from Cardi B, I know it’s wet. The way your hmm-hmm grip my hmm-hmm, you know I notice that. She ain’t the type to get revenge and give my homie sex. I told her call my phone when she nasty. She ain’t got no kids but she treat me like a paci, I gave that rose gold Patek, she call me daddy.”
Earlier this year, Ne-Yo delivered the singles “Over Again” featuring Charly Black and the O.T. Genasis-assisted “Pinky Ring,” all of which will likely appear on Ne-Yo’s forthcoming follow-up to 2018’s Good Man. In the same year, Jeremih connected with Ty Dolla $ign for the well-received drop MihTy. This month, Queen Naija will release her debut album missunderstood, which is preceded by the singles “Pack Lite,” “Butterflies Pt. 2,” and most recently the Lil Durk assisted track “Lie To Me.”
In a recent interview, Ne-Yo took a step back and reflected on his path, and explained why it led him to name his project
“I’ve definitely made mistakes in the journey to get to where I am now. I feel like the plight of a good man is to know when you make a mistake, realize that you made the mistake, learn from said mistakes so that you don’t repeat said mistake. That’s that’s kind of where I am now and in my mind and in my heart. Everything about me kind of personifies that at this point.”
