Last month, Masego began prepping fans for his upcoming project with his first cut titled “Passport.” He swiftly followed up and kept the same theme going with “Silver Tongue Devil” which just received an official lyric video to enhance it. The new video is equipped with scenes of beautiful women on a luscious island as Masego sings about the art of seduction:
“You know I could talk my way into sacred places. I no try, just blame my snake it is son of Satan. They say my-my-my, you stole my time, I say time’s a wastin’. Don’t you cry, just wipe your eyes, I know what you’re thinkin.’”
Masego released his official debut album Lady Lady back in 2018, which included features from SiR, Tiffany Gouché, De’ Wayne Jackson, and FKJ. The TrapHouseJazz singer certainly hasn’t been mute since then, as he dropped off plenty of appearances on singles in 2020 alone, including “Golden Ticket” with Brasstracks and Common, “Good & Plenty” with Alex Isley and Jack Dine, “Stickin’” with Sinead and VanJess, along with his own singles “Veg Out,” “King’s Rant,” and the aforementioned “Passport.” ‘Sego also participated in this year’s virtual BET Awards, gifting the viewers a new rendition of his popular Lady Lady track “Queen Tings.”
He’s most well-known for his breakthrough hit “Tadow,” more specifically the video of him and FKJ creating the track live, which has garnered over 235 million views since its release just three years ago. In an interview with GQ, he shares a bit how that legendary day went and how natural the process was:
“The ‘Tadow’ video, which shows me and FKJ recording the song live, I’ve been doing that for years, it’s just that no one ever films it. That was the first time somebody recorded me making a beat, start to finish. It felt good to be able to do that and be that for somebody else, being able to see this man make something from nothing. We met five minutes before writing and shooting ‘Tadow’. We made eleven songs that day.”
