Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have been cooking up an album in Italy and are said to be searching for a distributor to release it. On Monday (Oct. 23), the latter of the two took to Instagram to announce a “multi-stadium listening event” that the duo will be holding next Friday (Nov. 3). No other information was provided.
Said revelation arrived after a planned concert in Reggio Emilia’s RCF Arena was ultimately canceled. According to Billboard, that show was a collaborative effort with Italian promoter Vivo Concerti that was never formally announced.
Previously, Ye and Ty Dolla came together for hits like “Guard Down,” “Track 6,” “Ego Death,” “Everything We Need,” “Real Friends,” and “Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2).” There’s also a wealth of unreleased cuts that will hopefully get official drops in the future.
Ty Dolla $ign previously spoke on his relationship with the Chicago talent in an interview with XXL. As the Cali star explained, their connection really blossomed during the creation of his debut LP, Free TC.
“I’ve been knowing ‘Ye for awhile. He just called me in recently to start working with him,” the Beach House 3 artist said. “I’m very thankful he’s on the album. That’s like having Michael Jackson on your album in 2015. He’s been one of my favorites since he came out. I’ve always been a hip hop head. I f**k with J Dilla beats, Pete Rock beats, DJ Premier, and Madlib. That’s what he’s on, that crate digging and vinyl.”
Ty Dolla’s most recent solo body of work, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, was released in 2020 with contributions from the likes of Kid Cudi, Kehlani, Lil Durk, Nicki Minaj, and Jhené Aiko. The following year, Ye liberated the critically acclaimed Donda, which boasted a wealth of star-studded appearances.
