Last month, Berner released his latest album GOTTI, which saw 19 tracks with a wealth of assists from Future, Styles P, Rod Wave, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Mozzy, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, and more. In a past interview with REVOLT’s “The Breakfast Club,” the Bay Area native spoke on how he was able to connect with the Gotti family during the creation of the project, which was part of a conceptual trilogy (alongside Russ Bufalino: The Quiet Don and Paulie Cicero:
“I was like, ‘well, I kind of felt like the world was coming at me, I gotta call this album Gotti.’ So, I made a couple phone calls. And while I was in the studio dealing with all this stuff, I got a call like, ‘yo, you gotta fly to New York on Friday … to sit down with John [Gotti] Jr.’ So I pulled up on him and we spent about 14 hours together. And we just talked.”
This past weekend, Berner then upgraded GOTTI with a deluxe edition that adds on two additional cuts – “Whiplash” and “Make It Look Easy,” the latter of which features Lil Durk and sees the two artists delivering money and street talk at its absolute best:
“I got forty ones for forty-one, lost two hun’, what a horrible run, fresh bag, though, got more to come, Army trucks, so grab more than one, late night, when I sleepwalk, I hear the streets talkin’, it’s hard out here, they don’t eat often, told ’em stay low, keep the heat often, from twenty likes to a hundred plus, I had to run it up, made ten mil’, then I doubled up, on the good one, no double cup…”
Press play on GOTTI (Deluxe). As seen via Berner’s social media, a visual for the Jadakiss, Kevin Cossom, Nas, and Rick Ross-assisted “Too Many Goats” is on the way.
