Last Friday (Jan. 14), Cordae unveiled his sophomore studio LP From A Bird’s Eye View, which contains 14 cuts and collaborations alongside Lil Wayne, H.E.R. Lil Durk, Eminem, Roddy Ricch, and more. In terms of visuals, he preceded the release with “FABEV Freestyle (The Heart Part 4)” and followed up with “Today” featuring Gunna. He also became the latest to hit the revered “Tiny Desk” platform to deliver a few live renditions of his song.
He now keeps the momentum rolling with another visual today (Jan. 19) as he presents the official clip for “Chronicles” from the project. Equipped with assists from H.E.R. and Lil Durk, the video opens up with a scene of Cordae heading to a late night at the diner to unload some thoughts:
I’m on this road, and I’m not sure where my heart is headed (Mm), and if you left me now, I know how far I’d regret it/ Told you once, tell you twice that I’m indebted, huh but I can’t waste no time, you know my time is precious (Hey)
Hit up Eliantte for that diamond necklace (Hey), tell me you don’t need shit, girl, and I’ll respect it (Ooh)/ I’m on the road too much, shit kinda hectic, telling you what’s on my mind, don’t use my thoughts as leverage (Hey, huh)/ I been travelin’ ’round these crossroads (Hey)/ Gotta compromise somе shit but that’s a small toll (Huh)
From A Bird’s Eye View follows Cordae‘s critically acclaimed (and Grammy-nominated) debut album The Lost Boy, a 15-song body of work with contributions from Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, Arin Ray, Meek Mill, and Anderson .Paak, the last of whom appeared on the Gold-certified “RNP.”
