Kanye West is opening up about why he recently purchased a $4.5 million home across the street from his estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
During an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, the Donda rapper revealed that he purchased the home next to the reality TV star so he could see his four kids — North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. “My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule — that’s why I even got the house,” he said in the short clip. “You know, they flipped it in the media like there was something wrong with me getting a house next to my kids.”
Ye then spoke about how his mom moved him with her to Chicago, while his father stayed in Atlanta to focus on his career.
“There’s nothing with my career, with this rap, with this media, with none of that, that’s gonna keep me from my children. And that’s what I want everybody to know,” Ye added. “Don’t play with me, don’t play with my children. Ain’t no security gonna get in between me and my children and you ain’t finna gaslight me. And you ain’t gonna run this narrative on me.”
As REVOLT previously reported, the “All Of The Lights” emcee paid $421,000 over the seller’s asking price for the Hidden Hills estate. The new 3,600 square foot home is a single-story ranch house with four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The property also includes a horse stable, a small guest studio attached to a garage and AstroTurf lawns.
Last year, Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband. However, Ye vowed to “get his family back together” while donating Thanksgiving meals to the L.A. Mission last November.
