Jeezy and his wife Jeannie Mai have welcomed their first child together.
On Tuesday (Jan. 11), the new mom took to Instagram to share the exciting news. “I asked God for a life of love and happiness,” she captioned a photo of the baby hidden in its baby blanket. “He sent me my family. Baby Jenkins is here.” Her comment section was quickly filled with people sending their love and congratulations to the couple.
This is Mai’s first child, however, the Thug Motivation rapper is also a father to three other children — Shyheim, Jadarius and Amra — from prior relationships.
Last March, the pair got married in an intimate ceremony that took place in the open garden at their Atlanta residence. Mai and Jeezy originally had plans to wed in the South of France or at Lake Como in Italy, but they quickly revised those plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the sudden passing of Jeezy’s mother.
“After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short,” Mai previously said. “And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So, we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”
In September, Mai revealed that they were expecting a bundle of joy after undergoing in-vitro fertilization. She told Women’s Health that she also suffered a miscarriage prior to their wedding. “I wondered if I was being punished,” the TV host said at the time. “I wondered if I’d jinxed myself or cursed myself… [because] my entire life, I never wanted children. When I say never, I’m talking a hard-stop never.”
Congratulations to Jeezy and Jeannie! Check out her post below.
