Following some teasing on social media, DaBaby decided to release a two-for-one collaboration with YoungBoy Never Broke Again for his fans to enjoy. Titled “Bestie/Hit,” the dual release sees production from Johnny Juliano, Yung Exclusive, Jason Goldberg, Blake$ale, and Cardo and is full of the hard-hitting vibes that both artists are well known for:
“Shut up, I know you don’t love me, I’m fuckin’ on her and her buddy, yeah, the Maybach outside, uh, I hopped out that bitch, left it runnin’, don’t make me get in no trouble, yeah, you know when I air this bitch out now, I’m tryna be calm, I promise, It’s gettin’ too hard to be humble, it’s a Phantom outside, I’ma get in that, send ’em lil’ niggas, I send ’em back up in the box in the coroner minivan, go on ’em like Ja, make ’em spin like a ceilin’ fan…”
Following a well-publicized controversy over a Rolling Loud performance (and the subsequent loose drop “Giving What It’s Supposed To Give”), last November saw DaBaby making a big return with Back on My Baby Jesus Sh!t Again, which came with six tracks and a couple of features from Kodak Black and 21 Savage. Having already proved himself to be a productive feature, the “Rockstar” talent has continued to provide assists for peers like Kanye West, Coi Leray, and KayyKilo — last September also saw him connecting with the legendary Lil’ Wayne for “Lonely.”
Despite his incarceration, 2021 was a big year for YoungBoy, much in part thanks to the release of his third studio LP Sincerely, Kentrell, which boasted well-received singles like “Life Support,” “Nevada,” and “White Teeth.” More recently, he teamed up with Birdman for the joint effort From The Bayou.
