Next Friday (Jan. 14), Cordae will unleash his anticipated sophomore album From A Bird’s Eye View. He steadily gets the momentum going this week by dropping an appetizer titled “FABEV Freestyle (The Heart Pt 4).” The new offering comes paired with a visual that takes fans on a calm stroll with him through the streets of Paris. On the song, Cordae flows effortlessly and even gives us a hint about the difference between his debut project and the forthcoming one:
Who would’ve ever imagined the fathom that we would actually make it off of rapping? (Uh)/ I had a feeling that this all would happen (Yeah) God’s timing is perfect/ The last album was about finding your purpose, this one, start rewinding my verses
You’ll find a deeper message, been this way since my preconception (Uh)/ Before a lethal weapon (Yeah), before I would tour Jarad Higgins (Uh), bеfore I was trippin’ before I еxited mental prisons/ Before the auditions, y’all all fake
It’s been a couple of years since Cordae delivered his official debut LP The Lost Boy, which saw 15 tracks and collaborations alongside Pusha T, Meek Mill, Arin Ray, Ty Dolla $ign, Anderson .Paak, and Chance The Rapper. The top 20 effort was critically acclaimed by peers and fans alike, quickly pushing the former YBN emcee to the forefront of hip hop’s current leading roster.
Since then, Cordae could be heard contributing his bars to songs like H.E.R.‘s “Lord Is Coming (Remix),” Denzel Curry’s “AL1ENZ,” Dinner Party’s “Freeze Tag (Remix),” and Stevie Wonder’s “Can’t Put It in the Hands of Fate.” He also dropped the four-track EP Just Until…, which saw a couple of assists from Q-Tip and Young Thug.
