Just before 2022 arrived, Pooh Shiesty released a freestyle titled “Federal Contraband,” which acted as a recorded update for fans and critics on his incarceration, mental health, and much more. Now, fellow New 1017 member Foogiano has followed suit with “Live From Da Feds,” a Drumma Jai-produced effort that sticks with the same subject matter, with the Georgia star letting us all know that his spirits remain high in spite of his current situation:
“Hold my head up like a gangster, I’m prepared to face my fate, same niggas did my paperwork the ones was in my face, Wop tried to tell me ’bout them niggas, I misjudged and I ain’t listen, now I’m stuck down in the feds and I missed Christmas with my children, on my bunk, I hold my kids at night, I stay strong for my mental, cut the lights out, but my mouth still shine when I open my dental…”
In promotion of the single, Foogiano and his team took to social media to show the positive response to the release, while reaffirming his eventual release with the following line:
“When you see me you gone be so scared that ima take you out…”
Following his partnership with Gucci Mane, Foogiano made some serious waves with the 2020 release Gutta Baby, which saw 17 cuts and additional features from Gucci, DaBaby, Lil Baby, Tay Keith, Shiesty, and more — that was then followed by last year’s Backwood Boyz with Geezy Escobar. Unfortunately, Foogiano was arrested in Memphis after being on the run as a fugitive for three months, and was subsequently hit with a five-year sentence.
Press play on Foogiano‘s “Live From Da Feds” freestyle below. Hopefully, we’ll get some more songs from the vault — like the top tier So Icy Boyz standout “Dead In Miami” — sooner than later.
