Calboy becomes the latest to try his hand over Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin.” Yesterday (Jan. 4), the Chicago star liberated his freestyle for the Jambo and ATL Jacob-produced cut, which can originally be found on the Sniper Gang compilation Nightmare Babies. As with the original, Calboy keeps the subject matter focused towards street life and past struggles:
“I got this rocket, it’s right in my pocket, we blow it, you jump out a body, yea, baby I poured up a 4, I’ma snore in a minute, then roll up exotic, we left your man on the floor, and you know the young niggas ain’t slide for nobody, I know some niggas I used to call brother, left me in the gutter, now I want ’em dead, I got some niggas pop out of that cut, they slicker than butter, then it’s off with his head…”
What’s probably the most striking set of lines from the freestyle comes about halfway through, when Calboy seems to confirm a fallout between him and Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers imprint, whom he previously signed with back in 2019:
“I ran up the mills, I don’t fuck with no Dream Chasers, better stand on your business, know a whole lot of niggas that done died over green paper … I don’t need favors…”
Currently, Calboy is said to be working on his forthcoming album Redemption, and has blessed his fans with presumed singles like “Miseducation” with Lil Wayne, “Ten Toes Down,” “Round Here,” “Jungle Juice,” “She Knows,” and “If Heaven Had A Phone.” Upon its eventual release, it would follow the well-received Long Live The Kings, which — including its Deluxe edition — came with 12 songs and collaborations alongside Lil Tjay, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Polo G, Fivio Foreign, Yo Gotti, and the late King Von.
