At the tail-end of 2019, the world tragically lost the multi-talented artist Juice WRLD. His influence lives on today, and one of the many artists who were inspired to take the emotions from that day and put it into art is Kembe X. Kembe recently shared “Shoot Me Into Space,” a record he confirmed he created “immediately after finding out juice passed.” On the song, Kembe gets reflective:
When I die don’t bury me, shoot me into space, fuck a Paul Bearer never let no man carry me/ Smiling in your face but I swear I need therapy, it don’t matter what you say I swear feel like you ain’t hearing me/
Slept from five to nine am I ain’t been having no good nights/ Keep my energy high for the room so y’all could feel good right/ Do y’all get enough for asking stupid questions?
Most recently, Kembe dropped “Cozy Forever,” which also came with an official visual shortly after. Prior to releasing his recent singles, Kembe X has delivered cuts like “Too Bad” with Guapdad 4000, the Denzel Curry-assisted “Scared,” and also “Back At It” featuring ICECOLDBISHOP and Ab-Soul. Kembe had already shown his chemistry with both artists across tracks such as “Raised A Fool” and “As I Unfold” with Ab-Soul, and the recent “Keitel Sword” with ICECOLDBISHOP.
He also recently took to Instagram to deliver a few words of appreciation as he shared his year round-up, acknowledging the success amidst the pandemic. “Thank you to every last person who streamed my music this year even if it was just one time. It’s not lost on me how hard the pandemic has been on people and I’m glad to be a source of enjoyment and connection in these times.”
