Nicki Minaj is mourning the death of her business manager Angela Kukawski after she was found dead in Simi Valley, California. Posting to her Instagram and Facebook Stories on Wednesday (Dec. 29), Minaj offered her condolences to Kukawski’s family and her five children.
“Hardest working, most reliable, sweetest person you could ever know. You didn’t deserve this, Angela. My heart is breaking for your children,” Minaj wrote. “Rest In Peace.”
Offset, who was also one of Kukawski’s clients, also responded to her death on Instagram.
“R.I.P. Angie such a sweetheart. You helped me so much. Talked to you every week,” he wrote in a Story post. “I’m in disbelief. Smh prayer to your soul.”
As reported by REVOLT, Kukawski was declared missing on Dec. 22. The following day, police responded to a call on the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue where they discovered her body inside the trunk of her car.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office later ruled her death a homicide and police arrested her boyfriend, Jason Barker. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, detectives believe Barker killed Kukawski insider their Sherman Oaks home, placed her body in the trunk of her car and then drove the car to Simi Valley. He has since been charged with murder and torture by the L.A. County district attorney’s office and booked into jail on a $3.07 million bail.
Kukawski specialized in financial management and accounting. Besides Minaj and Offset, she also represented Kanye West, the Kardashians and Tupac Shakur’s estate.
“We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski,” Todd C. Bozick, her colleague at Boulevard Management, said in a statement. “Angie was a kind, wonderful person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie’s family and friends.”
The LAPD’s investigation into Kukawski’s death is ongoing.
