Business manager Angela Kukawski has passed away.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 55-year-old was reported missing on Dec. 22. A day later, police responded to the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue in Simi Valley, California where they discovered Kukawski’s body inside the trunk of her car, which was parked on the street. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled her death a homicide.

Authorities have since arrested Jason Barker, Kukawski’s boyfriend, and booked him into a jail facility in Van Nuys, where he is being held on a $3.07 million bail. The L.A. County district attorney’s office has charged the 49-year-old with murder and torture. “Detectives believe that Barker killed the victim inside their Sherman Oaks residence, placed her inside her vehicle, and drove to Simi Valley,” the LAPD said in a statement.

Kukawski was a mother of five who was “beloved” in the industry, according to Variety. One music business associate who previously collaborated with her said she was “hard-working” and “a straight shooter.”

Kukawski was also an L.A.-based business manager who worked at Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, where she specialized in financial management and accounting services for entertainers, athletes and entrepreneurs. Her clients included several high-profile celebrities, such as Offset, the Kardashians, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, the estate of Tupac Shakur and more.

In a statement to Variety, Boulevard’s Todd C. Bozick said, “We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski. Angie was a kind, wonderful person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie’s family and friends.”
