Lil Dicky’s successful show DAVE came to a close a few months ago as they rounded out their second season. Now to reminisce, he has linked up with GaTa to officially release “We Good.” The track appeared in the season two finale of the hit series where the two co-stars GaTa wrote the song in real time as they went back and forth, matching each other’s energy:
“They tried to tell me I was going cray, I been broke but had no breaks/ They hear my dreams, they like: “no way” I don’t change even when I’m in my own way/ You good, bro?
I don’t treat my friends right / Fuck it if I’m wrong, if my pen write
You good, bro/ Always looking for an angle ’til I’m square though, I’m not always right over here, bro/ You good, bro we do the worst to become first/”
Season two guest list boasts a star-studded roster with names like CL, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Benny Blanco, Kyle Kuzma, Doja Cat, J Balvin, Rae Sremmurd, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Lil Yachty, Lil Nas X, Kevin Hart and more. The first season of DAVE is FX’s most-watched comedy series ever with an average episodic audience of 9.4 million total viewers to-date across linear, VOD and streaming, and that number is growing.
GaTa recently also stopped by The New York Times with Lil Dicky as they spoke about what it’s like working on the show together. “I definitely still feel like the underdog, because I have a lot more to prove. It was too easy just to do what I did. I’m still trying to get better every day. I’m still asking Dave after every take, “How was it? Was it good?” If I’m going to have the title of an actor then I really got to be acting.
