Back in October, Masego teamed up with acclaimed Atlanta rappers Big Boi and JID on his new single “Garden Party.” The sultry, melodic track captures the vibe of an epic party, complete with romance and a battle of the bands. The song is a follow up to his successful Studying Abroad: Extended Stay project from earlier this year. They’re now back with the official visual for the track, which documents their 48 hours in Atlanta as they go on their adventures, first opening up in Stankonia Studios while Masego leads with his opening lyrics:
You know the vibes, you know my tribe, instruments, you know it’s live/ When I turn up, I don’t enter the place, without ’em (Saxophone, ching)/ When I show up, the place gets real colossal (Talk about it)/ It’s like la-di-da-di, I like to party (Uh) like to kick back (Yeah) with a shawty but this the night of the battle of the bands
The aforementioned Studying Abroad: Extended Stay is equipped with 11 tracks and features from Shenseea, Don Toliver, Shelea, TeaMarrr. It follows Masego’s official debut album Lady Lady, which included features from SiR, Tiffany Gouché, De’ Wayne Jackson, and FKJ. More recently, Masego can be heard dishing out plenty of assists within the last few weeks. He made an appearance on Sinead Harnett’s brand new Ready Is Always Too Late project alongside VanJess for the song “Stickin’.” ‘Sego also tapped in with ELHAE for their collab track “My City.”
Meanwhile, J.I.D just dropped off his “Ambassel” visual last week in steady preparation for his forthcoming The Forever Story project. Big Boi can most recently be heard handing out an assist on “Prey 4 Da Sheep” by Goodie Mob.
