Rick Ross‘ recent interview was cut short when he made an abrupt exit and never returned.
During a press run for his latest album, Richer Than I’ve Ever Been, the rapper stopped by “The 85 South Show” to kick it with hosts DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller and Chico Bean. After nearly 30 minutes of discussing the project, his road to the mainstream and his other ventures, he excused himself to go to the bathroom.
“Let me use the restroom one time and then I’ma take this jacket off,” announced Ross, who eventually left the premises altogether. The hosts waited 10 minutes before learning the news, which they immediately deemed a laughing matter.
“We ain’t get no dap?!” DC asked. “How he just gon’ disappear on a nigga like that? We ain’t even say bye or nothing!”
“That nigga the Phantom of the Opera,” Chico added. “I tell you one thing: from now on, that’s how the fuck I’m leaving.”
According to “The 85 South Show” crew members, Ross suddenly left the show to catch a flight after “something came up.”
Ross’ latest project Richer Than I’ve Ever Been dropped earlier this month. Despite his exit from the podcast, he was able to open up in a few other interviews about his music, his family and more. During his appearance on “The Real,” for example, the “Hustlin'” emcee announced that he would be interested in taking JAY-Z on in a Verzuz.
He also talked about how it felt for him to gift his 16-year-old son his own Wingstop franchise.
“What meant the most to me is him walking in and out of the Wingstop since he was four or five years old, watching me chase my dreams,” Ross explained. “That was my way of rewarding him. I would go in the Wingstop and pick up a broom, look at him and he’d go get the dust pan.”
