Earlier this month, Russ dropped off his latest body of work CHOMP 2, the sequel to last year’s CHOMP. The 14-track project also sees a wealth of features from Papoose, Styles P, Westside Gunn, Jadakiss, Snoop Dogg, Big K.R.I.T., Jay Electronica, Big Sean, and more.
Last week, the Atlanta talent decided to unveil a new visual from CHOMP 2 for the opening cut “Sheep,” a Jake One-produced effort that sees him rapping about women, his worth ethic, his lyrical abilities, and more:
“I like all my women to be sex crazed, models tryna put my hair in French braids, this industry is high school, grown men and women actin’ like they still in tenth grade, I don’t care what your friends say, I’m legendary, I love my girl but weddings scare me, I can’t fight the force, my dad is twice divorced, might be hereditary, bathai smoothies with the elderberry, y’all not my contemporaries, y’all are temporary ’cause the music ain’t even secondary…”
Directed by Raia Maria Laura, the accompanying clip for “Sheep” sees Russ treating his family to a vacation in France, beginning with a trip via private jet. Throughout, viewers can see Russ and his loved ones taking in art, enjoying fine dining, checking out vineyards and posting up by the water. All-in-all, it’s definitely one of the more inspirational videos out right now.
In a past interview with REVOLT, Russ spoke on the importance of owning your art, especially in regards to the music industry:
“Because ownership is why people in the music industry are rich. People really need to really think, they need to realize labels have never done a show. Ever. Labels have never toured. Ever. And they are billionaires. And it’s because they own the music. So, that’s how important owning music is.”
