Keke Palmer and Tori Kelly gave everyone a treat with their brand new performance on The Voice last night (Dec. 15). Just in time for the official day next weekend, the duo delivered their rendition of the holiday classic song “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” With a spirit as loud as their amazing vocals, Keke and Tori wowed the audience as they bounced off of each other’s energy, backed by a boisterous band and back up singers:
(Christmas) The snow’s coming down, (Christmas) I’m watching it fall, (Christmas) lots of people around, (Christmas) Baby, please come home/ (Christmas) The church bells in town, (Christmas) all ringing in song, (Christmas) full of happy sounds, (Christmas) Baby, please come home
They’re singing “Deck the Halls” but it’s not like Christmas at all/ ‘Cause I remember when you were here and all the fun we had last year
“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” is a Christmas holiday song originally sung by Darlene Love and included on the 1963 Christmas compilation album, A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records. Darlene Love had performed the song every year since 1986 on the final new episode before Christmas of Late Night with David Letterman (NBC 1986-92) and the Late Show with David Letterman (CBS 1993–2014).
On the music front, Keke Palmer dropped off her two parts to her Virgo Tendencies project last year, the second installment boasting a sole feature from Rick Ross. Since the multifaceted star hopped on FamOus.Twinss’ remix of their track “Hood Bitch.” In terms of what Tori Kelly has been up to, the new performance is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to her Christmas-themed offerings. She recently dropped off her A Tori Kelly Christmas (Deluxe) project back in October.
