Isaiah Rashad continues his promo run for his sophomore LP The House Is Burning. Last week, he and his Top Dawg Entertainment cohort SZA appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to perform “Score,” a Kenny Beats-produced offering that also features 6LACK and sees the artists speaking to a tried and true love interest:
“Just wanna ride-ride with you, shoot and I would die-die with you, pain you gotta notice, war scars and more shit, you got some baggage, emotions, crash and control issues, lagging and loading, heart was too open I put that over peace, you know I’d rather ride-die with you, but would you do it for the guy? I’m never outta reach, you know I wanna ride-die with you, or I’d keep that shit alive, meanwhile, I’m racing daylight-daylight, I’m gone, goddamn, I hit the freeway, get ghost, I’m lost I noticed it was unlocked-unlocked…”
This past summer, Isaiah Rashad made his long-awaited return to the fold with The House Is Burning, a 16-track body of work that saw additional appearances from Lil Uzi Vert, Duke Deuce, Smino, Jay Rock, Jay Worthy, SZA, 6LACK, and more. The project is considered both a critical and a commercial success, landing the Chattanooga, Tennessee talent within the top ten of the Billboard 200 thanks to 41,000 album equivalent units sold. Prior to The House Is Burning was Rashad’s official debut The Sun’s Tirade, which made landfall in 2016. That release saw 17 cuts with contributions from the likes of SiR, Kendrick Lamar, Zacari, Lance Skiiiwalker, and Kari Faux. The Sun’s Tirade also housed classic singles like “4r da Squaw,” “Free Lunch,” and “Park.”
