Nick Cannon is honoring his late infant son with a new tattoo.
During Friday’s (Dec. 10) episode of his daytime talk show, the Love Don’t Cost A Thing actor showed the audience an image of his new ink, which honors his 5-month-old son Zen, who passed away from brain cancer. “This is a week where I’ve seen so much love. More love than I’ve probably ever experienced, so even in the midst of a loss, I gotta say thank you to y’all,” Cannon said to the viewers.
“Last night, I got the opportunity to go get a tattoo of my son Zen as an angel on my rib,” he added, while holding up a framed photograph of his tattoo. “I’m still all bandaged up and it hurts right here right now… It was a lot of pain, but it was so well worth it. I enjoyed every moment of the experience to forever have my son right here as my rib, right here on my side, as my angel.”
As REVOLT previously reported, Cannon revealed that his son he welcomed with Alyssa Scott back in June passed away after battling a rare brain cancer called Hydrocephalus. The couple took Zen to the doctor to get checked out after noticing he had a cough and was breathing differently.
Doctors informed Scott and Cannon that their son was suffering from a malignant brain tumor and fluid was accumulating in his head. Zen underwent brain surgery, however, his condition worsened over the Thanksgiving holiday. “This weekend I made an effort to spend the most quality time with Zen,” the “Wild ‘N Out” creator emotionally said earlier this week on his talk show. “We woke up on Sunday and went to the ocean with him and Alyssa and then I had to fly back to New York for the show. I got a call on my way to the airport to head back to Zen.”
