Kanye West made a public plea to get back together with Kim Kardashian last night (Dec. 9) during his and Drake’s Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert. The 44-year-old called out to his estranged wife amid his performance of “Runaway,” a hit off 2010’s, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
“I need you to run right back to me” Ye sang before adding, “More specifically, Kimberly.”
Immediately after the shoutout, the crowd at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum went wild. According to the Daily Mail, Kim and her family were in the audience.
This is the third time Kanye has expressed his desire to get back together with the reality TV star in recent weeks. At the Los Angeles Mission’s Annual Thanksgiving event last month, the Chicago native reflected on his relationship with Kim and their four children.
“The narrative God wants is to see that we can be redeemed in all these relationships,” he said. “We’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband, but right now today, for whatever reason — I didn’t know I was going to be in front of this mic — but I’m here to change the narrative.”
In a Thanksgiving Day prayer, Kanye also said, “… All I think about every day is how I get my family back together.”
Ye also mentioned Kim during his viral two-part “Drink Champs” interview.
“I ain’t ever even seen the papers. We’re not even divorced,” Ye said at the time. “That ain’t no joke to me. My kids want their parents to stay together. I want us to be together.”
Drake and Kanye’s Thursday night show was intended to raise “awareness of the need for prison and sentencing reform,” particularly former gang leader Larry Hoover’s case, a press statement said. The event was live-streamed on Amazon Music, Prime Video and Amazon’s Music Twitch channel.
