Back in February, Jim Jones teamed up with Harry Fraud for the joint effort The Fraud Department, which saw 11 tracks and additional features from French Montana, Belly, Dave East, Maino, Curren$y, Jay Worthy, Conway the Machine, and more. Since then, the Dipset general has continued to build on his momentum by way of notable contributions on songs like Benny the Butcher’s “Longevity,” Young Thug and Young Stoner Life’s “Mack Truck,” Papoose’s “King Kong,” Peter Rosenberg’s “Snake Eyes,” DJ Kay Slay’s “Rolling 110 Deep,” Dave East’s “Money or Power,” and Curren$y’s “The Beach.”
Today (Dec. 10), Jones connects with Migos for “We Set The Trends,” a Bordeaux and Non Native-produced effort that sees the collaborators sticking with the song’s boastful title as far as its subject matter:
“I been tryna get the money, I been tryna feed my fam, ’cause these niggas they don’t wanna see me win, I been thinkin’ ’bout the Rollie, but I went and got the Richie, then I went and put my momma in the Benz, I get it in, in the pent’ suite fuckin’ two twins, I thought about the Glock, but I went F&N, and a nigga spin this shit without a pen, I call Jimmy, kick it with the billies, we already ran up a milli’, so that shit ain’t really interestin’, he outta line, he get a penalty…”
The accompanying visual for “We Set The Trends” comes courtesy of Shula The Don and Will C. of StreetHeat and takes viewers to South Harlem in front of El Valle 46, where Jones and his North Atlanta cohorts catch vibes with their respective crews. All parties can also be seen keeping the party going in an apartment building stairwell and with the aid of a gang of bikers — Maino and Freekey Zekey makes notable cameos as well.
