There is no secret that A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is a fan favorite amongst the younger generation these days and rightfully so. The man is a genreless superstar in his own right and he exceeds the expectations every chance he gets. With the abundance of new music we’ve received this year, A Boogie came through at the perfect time with this new release. It has been well over a year since the release of Artist 2.0 and fans have patiently waited. Today (Dec. 10th), the wait is over and fans were gifted early for Christmas with the release of his A Boogie Vs. Artist project.
Much like T.I. (T.I. Vs T.I.P.), Cassidy (The Problem Vs. The Hustla), and Eminem with Slim Shady, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie takes the artistic route of going head to head with his alter ego on wax.
In the months following A Boogie’s proclamation that the project was almost finished, the “Drowning” rapper received multiple platinum plaques — one for “Me And My Guitar,” from his last release Artist 2.0, and was awarded a second plaque when his second album, Hoodie SZN, went double platinum. But while there have been good times, things haven’t been perfect for the 26-year-old.
Throughout the beginning of 2021, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was caught up in a bunch of relationship drama resulting from his breakup with Ella Bands. In September, he was arrested before his set at London’s Wireless Festival for what he said was something he was accused of two years ago. In response to being arrested and missing his performance, A Boogie promised he would make it up to his fans. Nearly three months later, A Boogie has delivered on that promise.
Based on the first listen, A Boogie Vs. Artist is some of his best work to date. Make sure you check it out at your earliest convenience.
