NBA Youngboy is embracing a new look following his release from prison.
For his latest visuals for “Black Ball,” the Baton Rouge native sported black makeup on his face, including black lipstick and dark-colored cosmetics around his eyes. He also had the words “Peace” and “Rock” written across his cheeks.
During a recent Clubhouse session, DJ Akademics asked YoungBoy about the new look. “I like painting my face, putting makeup on,” he said. “I like to look in the mirror and see everything black — like my eyes and shit,” adding, “That’s me being myself. I feel comfortable that way.” He also said that he made his engineer go buy the products and it gives him a “goth feeling, like rockstars.”
Currently, YoungBoy is on house arrest in Utah after being released on bond from the St. Martin Parish Jail in Louisiana on federal gun possession charges. He will remain on home confinement until his trial, which has not been set yet.
Since being released, the Sincerely, Kentrell MC has spent a lot of time on Clubhouse with his fans. As REVOLT previously reported, he recently spoke about rumors alleging that he was a no-show during a studio session with J. Cole.
“They lied and said I stood J. Cole up,” he said, denying claims that his absence was due to a lack of interest. “They lied, they said I ain’t wanna go in the studio with him. That wasn’t even the case.” Instead, he missed the session because he was not in the right frame of mind.
“I was going through something so what the fuck I’ma go in this man’s studio session for a meet-up with him, knowing that I ain’t in a mode to talk or just to be in the mode to fuck around,” the “Bandit” emcee said. “What the fuck I’ma go around this man if I know I ain’t in a mood to talk to nobody or sit there, or even be around somebody?”
Youngboy disclosed that he and Cole never talked about the missed collaboration. “That man don’t give a fuck about this shit,” he added.
